De Rougemont Manor Hotel

Dear Customer;

We, as owners of the De Rougemont Manor, being the 3 children of Mr Ian Hilton, founder of the business, would like to update all of our wonderful and loyal customers, on what has been happening in 2010.

Our Father Ian, purchased this building in 1968, then a private house called “The Goldings”. At this early stage it was converted to a small hotel and country club and opened in June of 1969. Our father with our family have owned and managed the building ever since as it blossomed from small beginnings into what it is now, one of the largest independent AA 4 Star Hotels in the South of England.

The Hotel was for many years known as The New World Inn or Hotel and in 2006 upon gaining the AA 4 Star status was re-named De Rougemont Manor after the original French owners and builders of the Manor House.

2010 has been a very sad year for our family as our father became ill and finally passed away in May of this year. The hotel was then passed down to us, his children, who have all worked in the business for in excess of 25 years and we are endeavouring, in our Fathers memory to make the hotel even better than it has been in the past.

Following our recent annual A.A. visit last week, we are delighted to report that they have commented on the continued improvements that have been made in the quality of service provided, the facilities on offer and the general quality of food and accommodation standards.

We are looking forward to an excellent Christmas with bookings coming in fast and furious and we are trying for a record year in 2011, but our main aim is for every guest to have an excellent individual experience on their visit to De Rougemont Manor and feedback good or otherwise is always welcome.

Once again we thank you for your past and present custom and wish you Health, Wealth and Happiness for the New Year.

Regards, Victoria Kelly, Davine Laybourn and Jason Hilton.
